FIND YOUR INSPIRATION
Every product of fashion comes out of an inspiration no item has
been ever given birth without tracing down its origin. The problem with
inspiration is it doesn’t come to you when you badly want it. A good designer
is someone who keep every scene not in his gallery but inside his/her mind a
place from where he can source down any time it needs. Generally big fashion
designers roam around, travel to different places, eat good food and visit a
lot of inspiring places to get its inspiration but that doesn’t happen with you
or me. We need to be seated down inside the house behind the screen and imagine
some good inspiration. You can get inspired from anything and everything but
until you store them in a corner of your mind and make that corner accessible
everytime.
Sometimes, we do have some great pictures, memory etc for our
inspiration but then what to do with it? do we need to get inspired for the
prints, silhouette? Exactly what? We feel you here dear and that’s why we are
here to help you out with your next collection. Follow these simple steps to
get an amazing inspiration and how to develop it:
· Look at the shapes or any tiny shape that is
inside the frame and see if you can modify these or can you create something
out of it. it can be anything, surface ornamentation, color palette, silhouette
or anything.
· Turn your laptop upside down see if it works,
trace the outline on your copy and explore it render it with pencil and be wild
and crazy with its shape.
· Embrace it texture can you do the same on the
fabric? You can do it through block printing, coloring it, embroidery design or
though some pleats. It can be anything and everything.
· Color combination, mix and match the colors that is on that picture. Create a color palette of it and then find the combination it will be easier for you trust m
· Do find anything interesting in that frame? Like
dots, special arrangement of lines, is there any pattern that they follow or is
it just arranged in a very raw manner. Figure it out and try to implement on
your collection. This can also be later transferred into different prints and
embroidery designs.
· Collect images from fashion runways (make sure
its recent) know what’s trending use its style or drape for your collection.
· Jot down what you loved the most differently now
try to combine all of it in a single garment, what do you see its too
overwhelming? Then segregate those into different illustration and try out
different ways.
· Doodling, doodling and doodling that’s the only
word I can use because that makes your mind lighter and gives good impression
in your mind. Do this exercise once you started imaging anything in mind. Don’t
just keep that up to your mind.
· I would suggest you to carry a sketch book where
ever you go, rather than your phone because papers put live to your doodling
not your photos.
· Dedicate your Pinterest board for each of your
inspiration. collect your snaps into one board and see everything will look so
sorted out later on.
Hope this will help you out for your next
collection and you will see how simple things are in real rather than in mind.
Mind makes everything complex so don’t let your mind overpower you rather jot
it down and use your mind for creating your latest design collection. How about
